I am looking for an old friend named Karen (but spelled in a slightly different way) who grew up in Minnesota, served in Central America, went to NYU Graduate School of Education, and worked briefly while in school for the Fishers in NYC and on Martha's Vineyard. matt, did you ever get in touch with Karin? she didn't grow up in minnesota but some of the other stuff is similar.. worked for the fishers, and was in central america... i am assuming it's the same gal. anyway, i sent her an email forwarding your message.
