Hello! I have a question for all of you. How long did it actually take from your turing in your application to acceptance to departure? I have heard all sorts of diff. things. On the website, it says 6 mos- 1 year. A recruiter told me they could fast track me and do it in three months. What have your experiences been? Thanks! |

I turned in my application late January, turned in my medical stuff late April, and am waiting to hear back from them. They said I would hear from them in August, since the program I am nominated in doesn't leave until March 2005. |

It takes a while. Alot depends on how quickly you handle things on your end (medical, dental, letters of reccomendation) and how much you use FedEx or faxing. It is still something that takes time, and I think 3 months would be quite a feat. We (married couple) began our application in Febuary, nominated in April, and invited in August (actually arriving in country in October). Granted we are a married couple, so we took longer to place. If you don't mind my speculation, I wonder why you might be rushing. It is a process that takes a lot, and giving it time might make you more comfortable with your decision after you have arrived in your country of service. |
