Dear Friend, The Friends of the Peace Corps group at Prosper would like to invite you to view our site at: http://www.prosper.com/public/groups/group_home.aspx?group_short_name=PeaceCorpsFriends Prosper, America's first people-to-people lending marketplace, was created to make consumer lending more financially and socially rewarding for everyone. The Friends of the Peace Corps group is dedicated to helping future, present and former Peace Corps Volunteers and those projects that benefit the three goals of the Peace Corps. MEMBERSHIP Our group welcomes anyone who loves and supports the Peace Corps. When requesting membership, please provide a brief description of your affiliation with the Peace Corps, i.e., PCV, RPCV, former staff, friend, etc. Please do not include funding requests when requesting membership. BORROWERS/PRE-PEACE CORPS SERVICE Are you trying to join the Peace Corps but are having trouble affording it? Do you need your wisdom teeth removed, but your insurance won't cover it? Are you going to Mongolia and need to buy some winter clothes? Do you want to buy a notebook computer to assist with your service? Or, do you just need to get your financial house in order so that you can concentrate on your service? If you need some financial help to join the Peace Corps, please let us know and we will try to help. BORROWERS/PEACE CORPS VOLUNTEERS Are you currently serving in the Peace Corps and have experienced a financial difficulty that is jeopardizing your service? If so, maybe we can help you take care of it. Or, maybe you have project for which you are seeking funding. Please let us know, because the group might be able to point you in the right direction for traditional funding, i.e., money that won't have to be paid back. If you are not able to secure traditional funding for a project, then perhaps the group can help by providing financing. Please note, the funding of any project while you are a Peace Corps Volunteer requires that your APCD and/or Country Director be informed of the particulars. BORROWERS/RETURNED PEACE CORPS VOLUNTEERS You've just completed your service and you find that life in America is a bit more expensive than you planned for. If you need a helping hand rebuilding your life, please let us know and we will try to help you. Good news: you've gotten back on your feet after COSing. Now, you'd like to do something more. Maybe you'd like to start your own business, or maybe you need some seed money for a Third Goal project. Whatever the case, contact the group and perhaps we'll be able to help you secure financing. BORROWERS/OTHERS Maybe you don't fit easily into the previous three borrowing groups. Not a problem. The group will consider supporting the financing of anything that benefits the Peace Corps, especially its Three Goals. Simply contact the group leader with your ideas and we'll try to help. LENDERS We encourage lending to and borrowing from those who love and support the Peace Corps and its ideals to help us all prosper. GROUP LEADER The Friends of the Peace Corps group leader is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer. In an effort to make sure members get the lowest interest rates possible, the group leader collects no rewards. If you have any questions, concerns or suggestions for improvement, please don't hesitate to contact the group leader. Thank you very much for considering involvement in the Friends of the Peace Corps, and please be sure to visit our site at: http://www.prosper.com/public/groups/group_home.aspx?group_short_name=PeaceCorpsFriends Please also feel free to forward this to anybody you think would be interested in getting involved. Best wishes, The Friends of the Peace Corps |
