Geologists who served in the US Peace Corps have organized a Technical Session for the Annual Meeting of the Geological Society of America in Seattle, Washington, November 1-5, 2003. The Session is titled: "Geologists in the US Peace Corps: The Contribution of Peace Corps Geologists to International Development and the Contribution of the Peace Corps Experience to the Development of the Geosciences in America." The Session will explore the Contributions of American Peace Corps geologists to developing nations and the international community and the effect of Peace Corps service on the careers of American geologists and the Geologic Profession. The Session will also explore whether the US Peace Corps should continue to send geologists to serve in the developing world. RPCV geologists are requested to particpate in this session. RPCV geologists interested in participating should submit an abstract between April 1st and July 15th at geosociety.org or contact Bob Levich by E-mail at bob_levich@ymp.gov or phone at 702-768-7642.
