This is our 7th year bringing Americans to live and work in a Russian orphanage for the summer. Program is July and August. Wonderful kids (6-17), small village, our own floor, real showers and decent food, swimming in the Svir River, our volunteer group is small, just 4-6.
Unfortunately, Russia kicked the PC out of the country in 2002 (a few bad apples killed the whole program, a real tragedy), so there's not a lot of volunteers here anymore. Most are faith-based, we are a public charity, been here since 1991. Please look us up at www.miramedinstitute.org There's a complete section on our volunteer and internship programs
Yes, we do provide on site translators!

We hope to hear from sure-footed, self-reliant ESL teachers, artists, musicians, people who love kids and want to see this incredible country. Thanks, Robert Aronson, Program director
