hi, i am currently a community college student about to receive my associate of arts. i have a couple of years of experience working in a greenhouse in minnesota. i am planning on attending the university of minnesota to study either botany or agriculture. i had talked to a cousin who was in the peace corps and he said that i should consider it as an option. i would really like to be able to get some experience in a field related to either botany, agriculture, or the environment.
living in and adapting to new living conditions and cultures is not a concern for me. i would really like to experience another culture and way of life.
i would like some information about things like my chances of getting an invitation with my education and experience, where i might get posted, what jobs i might get (or what my chances of getting a job related to the fields above are), who i might get posted with (would i probably be alone or with other volunteers)? any other information you feel i should know would also be greatly appreciated.
i have not filled out my application yet, i'm really trying to decide whether or not this is an option for me. i emailed a recruiter about a week ago with these same questions and i have not received a response.
thank you in advance!
matt
