I just received my medical clearance - it took only 2 weeks, however, my service has been restricted to countries that can provide mammograms. On one level I understand this, but on another, I'm bugged since this seriously limits my options for service. Only 30 countries are on this list. Does anyone know which ones they are or why this might be shaping up into a policy?

Hi Vicki,

I know you posted this a long time ago and I don't know if you'll still check back for a response, but hopefully you will! I am not in the 50+ catagory but another gal serving in my country is and mentioned the same thing, and that she had found it both strange and frustrating as well. After pushing the issue, she found out that she could essentially waive holding Peace Corps responsible for her having a mammogram, and then be able to go to countries-- such as our placement-- where such modern technology is not present. She decided that she'd just save up some money and go have one done in the states half way through her service. Anyhow, this would at least be something to look in to, because it seems really frustrating and limiting to be told you can only serve certain locations based on something like this.
