My partner just left for PC about a month ago, and I have had a huge struggle not being able to speak with her much. I have gotten just a couple emails, and one 3am phone call. I would like some information about how others have dealt with communications. Specifically, communications to and from Kyrgyzstan, or anywhere else in Central Asia. Some folks rave about Skype phones, but I am going to be doing a lot of traveling in the States myself and may not have internet access. Anyone have particular luck with a calling card? I found a 9.31 cent a minute card to call Kyrgyzstan, and haven't found anything cheaper.
Also, maybe if someone could refer me to a support group of those of us left in the wake of a loved one while they have their PC adventure, that would be fantastic.
Thanks in advance.

kc5fm.pushline.com has a number of phone cards with rates less than US9.31 cents per minute. A number have tollfree access with rates under eight cents.
