RUSS DIEHL or JIM HECKMAN - Ethiopia. Does anybody know the whereabouts of these two who were both Peace Corps volunteers in Ethiopia in the mid 1970's, and shared a flat in Addis Abeba in 1975?

Hi, Mike,

(I tried to send this to your Mike.Lean@uchsc.edu but it was returned, and so am posting here.)

I just now by pure chance saw your posting two years ago on the Peace Corps site looking for me. Nice to hear from you! Funny, I’ve been thinking of you recently for no good reason.

How in the world are you? I landed back here in Pennsylvania after another 2 years and 7 months overseas in Indonesia, and have been here since 1981. The area’s a little dull, but that’s balanced out by its being very livable, and its proximity to Washington D.C., Philadelphia, Baltimore and New York City. I’ve done a lot of vacationing in the American West, and it is spectacular.

Give me a shout and let me know how/where you are, etc.

Jim

Jim - great to see this! I have just stumbled across my own long-forgotten posting here, whilst idly Googling Ethiopia Mke Lean tonight (there is an interesting interview by John Peel with me on October 12 2002). My fondness and memories for Ethiopia are still pretty strong! I regularly deviate to Colfax, in Denver, for injeera and wat (two proper ethipian restos there), but I am back in Scotland mostly now. All is good, but lots of tales to tell and lessons learned.

I will email you!
