Sir/ Madam

Its a sad day for us Filipinos, to know that a peace corps volunteer died, I thank you for your humanitarian mission.
During my childhood days I use to see a lady volunteer once she visits our home, I was very young then and cant remember her name, can you please tell her that I appreciate what she has done.
She use to be in the school Balaoan National High School here in Balaoan La Union, Philippines she was one of the pioneer in education, encouraging parents to send there child to school, knocking on doors with a smile.
Please tell her my that the fruits of her work are enormous and we thank you,
Bernard

We are heartbroken to see news reports with her smiling face on television, knowing that all she wanted was to help our people. Please be certain that her work here has been well appreciated and will continue to be remembered for many years to come. Julia's generosity of spirit and love for humanity shines through even after death. Our gratitude extends to her parents who have raised an extraordinary and talented individual. We would like to send our most sincere condolences to the Cambpell family. We met your daughter travelling from Manilia to Guam and had a lovely chat with her on her mission in the Philippines; we know she was making a difference. Julia mentioned to us that she was on her way to Hawaii to celebrate her 40th birthday with her family.

We would like to pass this on, "the one we love never really leave us, but go on to another shining place." We are thinking of you and wish you peace.

As a native born Filipino and having served the Peace Corps, I want to extend my deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Julia Campbell. Peace Corps Volunteers share the universal desire to help those who are less fortunate. Julia Campbell exemplified that trait by serving in the Philippines. May God bless her and her family.

We have never met Julia but we do live in the Philippines part of the year - and one of us is an old African RPCV. We are thus especially saddened that this tragedy happened in our otherwise friendly and peaceful Pinoy-land. May the family of Julia please accept our sincere condolences. jack and teresita finlay
