i have a few questions that i was wondering if you could help me out on. I am actually writing a paper on the Peace Corp as a "system". Who and what makes up the Peace Corp. I know volunteers do, and they are unpaid. But what about the ones that work in the office in DC. Is this their only job, or do they have to make money else where. Any info would be a help.

volunteers are given a monthly stipend that, in theory, will allow them to live at a level equal to those people around them. i think in general peace corps volunteers tend to have more money than the people around them, but not by much. in eastern europe countries, volunteers get probably $175-$275 per month. that is, i think, the highest paid region. the average peace corps stipend is $1600 per year from what i have read.

Volunteers get paid a stipend that allows them to live modestly in the country they serve. In many countries they live without running water, flush toilets, power, or other comforts they had in the USA. They can serve 27 months, two or more months of which are training months. They can extend for another one or two years in the same country or possibly another. Staff in Washington are fully employed as staff. There are a few key positions in Washington that are appointed. A large percentage of the Peace Corps staff in the USA and abroad are under the 5 year rule. They work for five years with Peace Corps, then they have to move on for five years. Then they can come back to work for Peace Corps again for five more years.

how come only americans are allowed to volunteer in the peace corps? are there other organisations similar to peace corps but not restricted to american citizens? I am from namibia, in africa. I want to volunteer but everyone charges fees for volunteers.

I've read your article, and have to say - this really is a real gem. The last time I've encounter something equally well-written was https://www.freeessays.education/essay-examples/ph ysical-assault/. Your material is really an excellent read, many thanks. Wish you a massive audience and inspiration for more posts.
