Here is a notice about local advocacy groups that are being organized by the NPCA with a grant from the Rockefeller Brothers Fund that has been circulating on RPCV listservs. We will provide additional information when it becomes available.

NPCA recently received a two-year grant from the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, to strengthen its grassroots advocacy capacity. As part of the program under the grant, NPCA is facilitating the organizing of state level advocacy units wherever a group can be viable. These units will contribute substantially to NPCA's commitment to make the Returned Peace Corps movement a more powerful voice for a responsible American foreign policy, from the grassroots level. The regional advocacy workshops, now under way, will support the advocacy capability of individual participants in the state-based advocacy network.

They have asked the affiliated groups to designate an appropriate advocacy contact person and a list of people interested in advocacy. The states with the most active interest can help organize state advocacy group meetings and activities.
