Gaddi Vasquez, is a Division Vice President in the Public Affairs Department of the Southern California Edison Company. SCE is one of the largest investor owned utilities in the United States and provides electric service to customers in a 50,000 square mile area in the southern part of California.
Prior to his current position, he was twice elected to the Board of Supervisors of Orange County where he represented the Third District. He has served in the administrations of former California Governors George Duekmejian and Pete Wilson. He was twice appointed by former U.S. President George Bush to federal commissions and served as an advisor to the former President.
In 1998, former California Governor Pete Wilson appointed Mr. Vasquez to the California Council for the Humanities and in October of 1999, Governor Gray Davis appointed him to the Governor's Task Force on Diversity.
Active in community affairs, he serves on the Advisory Board of Habitat for Humanity and the Salvation Army. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Boy Scouts of America - Orange County Council and is the secretary of the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials. Mr. Vasquez also serves on the Board of Directors of Olivecrest and is a board member of the St. Joseph Hospital Foundation and the board of directors of KOCE - TV, Orange County's Public Broadcasting Station.
