Here is a Peace Corps memo on new Country Directors.

We do not have a date on this announcement. We assume that it was issued at least several weeks ago.

From: Overseas Executive Selection, Peace Corps

Subject: : THE Peace Corps NEEDS COUNTRY DIRECTORS WORLD-WIDE FOR JANUARY 2002

The Peace Corps needs your help in finding the best senior managers with
international experience to serve in enormously important Peace Corps
overseas positions. We know that through your various networks you come in
contact with just the kind of people who would be perfect for the Peace
Corps.

The Peace Corps is recruiting candidates for Country Director positions to
be filled in January 2002. We are attaching the description of the Country
Director responsibilities and the way in which those interested can contact
us in order to receive an application packet.

As you may know, Peace Corps Country Directors serve at the discretion of
the Peace Corps Director and are the senior agency officials overseas who
are responsible for the overall management and direction of all aspects of
the Peace Corps programs in-country. Country Director candidates must be
United States citizens, have not been associated with certain intelligence
activities, and must have a sustained background of demonstrated excellence
in managing a program or business of comparable size to a Peace Corps post
(e.g. approximately 5-30 staff members, 50-200 Volunteers, and an annual
operating budget ranging from $500,000 to $3,000,000).

Only a limited number of Country Director positions are vacant for the
January 2002 placements. The competition for these positions are intense.
If you know of great candidates, please let them know of this opportunity.
If, by any chance, you are interested yourself please ask for a copy of the
application materials.

The closing date for applications is October 1, 2001. After all of the
materials are received, the applications will be reviewed and the candidates
will be informed of the results in approximately six to eight weeks.

Please let us know if you have any questions or ideas about how we can best
contact your network about this opportunity. We can be reached as follows:
