Peace Corps volunteers save 80% of international long distance call expense using callback!

Peace Corps volunteers save 80% of international long distance phone call expense by using international callback service to call family and friend in USA but enjoying US telecom technology and connection. The service I recommend is at
http://bestcallback.net .

You can find the rate to call US from South Africa is only 24¢.

When you go to http://bestcallback.net, look for the "Peace Corps Service" section to see some sample rates and then dig for the program
features and benefits. Please forward this message to your friends who are currently serving or planning to serve in that country so he/she can save $$$ when calling home!

Hi - I'm an American Rotary Ambassadorial scholar studying at Univ. of Stellenbosch for one year. Am looking to come to Jo'burg for a week in April and would very much like to participate in a volunteer project, in Soweto or other township and would like contact information, suggestions, anything! I don't want to be a tourist and would like to get a sense of life in the townships.
Thanks- Hannah Morris

How is the best way to ship packages to Peace Corps staff in South Africa and be quite certain they will arrive? I would like to send Lisa Ellis something.

Hi. I'm looking for a woman who served in S.Africa sometime around 2001. I met her at a PC diversity conference in Zambia (I was PC/Zambia). She's African-American, I can't recall her name, but she studied journalism in college. Anyone know who I'm talking about? She was in a car accident while in service. THANKS!

I just recently accepted an invitation to serve in the Mpumalanga province of South Africa as an education volunteer. I am looking for packing advice and any other information RPCV's would find helpful for me. I am especially interested in what type of luggage to use. Were backpacks the most efficient, or should I go with something else? Please email me!!! Thanks.

I will be departing for South Africa in about 3 weeks as an education volunteer to the Mpumalanga Province. I was wondering is there any advice or tips that you would have that anyone could share with me that would be helpful and ease my nerves a bit? Thanks so much.

Hello. I, too, have accepted an invitation to go to South Africa in July. My project is to work with an NGO (more specifically, an NGO that provides services to PWAs ) to help strengthen organizational capacity and also help ensure sustainability.

I'm interested in talking with any RPCVs who have recently returned and are familiar with this project.

Thanks for your time,
Courtney Sanders

Hello,

I am leaving in about two weeks as a trainee in one of the three northernmost terretories of South Africa. I will be working as a capacity builder for HIV programs there. I would really apreciate any packing advice I could get, especially related to computers and cameras.

Thanks,

My wife and I have been nominated to serve in the NGO program and Public Health Education program, respectively. I would very much like to correspond with individuals who have served in these capacities in the past and can tell us more about the actual work and experience.

Thanks.

Hello! I'm a former PCV of West Africa but recently purchased a piece of art from South Africa. With the art came a short piece of writing in regards to the art. . . I have no idea which language it is written in, and I can't make out the characters exactly, but am hoping that someone reading this will be able to provide a translation, even a rough translation is fine.Thank you in advance for your help and please email me at saisaimawdo@hotmail.com
