Overseas Experience: Since 1963, I have lived briefly and traveled extensively in Mexico. From 1964-66, I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ambato, Ecuador. From 1968-69 I lived in Madrid, Spain. From 1999 to the present I have lived in Costa Rica working again as a Peace Corps Volunteer.

Languages Spoken: Native speaker of English. Fluent in Spanish, written and oral. Basic studies in French, not fluent.

Extra People Skills: I bring flexibility, creativity, intelligence, dedication to all my endeavors. I have management skills which are useful at whatever level I work. Of unique interest, are the various prevention programs I have previously directed for youth including self-help, peer counseling, sexual abuse treatment, and my more recent experience, providing non-formal educational training to youth and parents in a wide variety of topics, including alcohol and drug abuse prevention, HIV/AIDS prevention, career planning and parenting.

Hobbies: My primary hobbies are reading broadly in history and fiction, writing, and enjoying art and outdoor activities.

Comments: I practiced clinical social work with youth & adults from 1976 to 1989. After which was Director of Alcohol, Drug & Mental Health Services in Merced County, California (1989-1995) and Santa Barbara County (1995-1998). Retired to join the Peace Corps and am a Volunteer in Children Youth & Families At Risk Project. I have been working for two years in partnership with an elementary school psychologist with children that have emotional and conduct disorders. My prior teaching experience includes five years at the university level teaching clinical and administrative practice to masters social work students for UCLA and the University of Southern California (off and on from 1978 to 1988). In the 1960s, I also taught pre-school Head Start for one year, Kindergarten for one year, and physical education in Ecuador for two years.
