Cara Forster was born and raised in Houston, Texas. Cara studied studied Environmental Science and 19th century British Poets as an undergraduate at Harvard, where she sang in several choirs and Broadway musicals and didn't think too highly of the weather. After graduating, Cara spent two and a half years doing Peace Corps Nicaragua where she did envrionmental education in elementary schools, a small grant through USAID for trash cans for a town of 10,000 in the central mountains, and ran a 15 woman savings and loan for single mothers. She spent the last year helping an environmental lawyer write a book on the history of litigation to protect places of natural interest along the Texas Coast, spirituality as the basis for activism, and ecotouism as a means of sustainable development. Cara is currently in the Enviromental Managment Masters program studying community based methods of sustainable development with a focus on Latin America. To keep herself sane and balanced, she is editing her Peace Corps journals into a (hopefully) publishable form of short novel.
