Matthew Chico, Director, Americas Region, has dedicated his career and expertise to improving healthcare services domestically and internationally, both through grassroots service delivery and at the national policy levels.

The work history of Chico includes tenures as a staff member in the United States Senate and as a health policy advisor in the National Office of Economics at Ernst & Young, LLP. Chico was also a Peace Corps staff member following his volunteer assignment in the Republic of Kiribati. His sense of humanitarian service led Chico to work at Mother Teresa's Home for the Dying in Calcutta, India and, more recently, to spearhead a national campaign raising funds for HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment, an effort which culminated in a 2,156 mile "Thru-hike" of the Appalachian Trail (Maine to Georgia).

Chico holds a graduate degree in Public Health from the George Washington University in Washington, DC and was a Health Policy and Management Fellow at the Harvard University School of Public Health in Boston, MA.
