Morocco and the US non-governmental organization, "Peace Corps" agreed to launch a joint program to back handicraft enterprises and NGOs.

Moroccan secretary of state in charge of handicraft, Hassan Maaouni, said this project will contribute significantly to developing handicraft enterprises and consolidate the role of intermediary between the authorities and craftsmen played by non-governmental organizations operating in the sector.

He added that the sector needs support to improve its marketing, design and quality.

Procedures for the identification of needs will be defined following visits to major handicraft enterprises in Morocco, said head of the peace corps, Barbara A.Durr.
