Niue
It's been four years since I was sworn in as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Fale Fono in Alofi, Niue. I left there after seven months. As of early this year the Peace Corps is no longer serving Niue. I miss my time there - despite the emotions it stirred.
It's pretty easy to find what information there is on the Web now - so this remake of this page drops the links. It does retain the pictures - and I promise to add to them. If you have any questions related to the country or the Peace Corps, don't hesitate to write. (I grew up in cyberspace when it was a friendlier, less commercial place. My address is whir at pobox dot com - sorry, but apparently one still has to be evasive around spammers.)
As I write this it's about noon April 20 in Niue (just east of the date line) and the election is going on. So, one link - that captures the people and the place pretty well.
And there are (will be) more pictures scattered in this language primer (now begun!).
