SAN DIEGO, Jan. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- The San Diego Regional Energy Office (SDREO), a leading energy information resource and public benefit organization, today announced the promotion of Scott Anders to Director of Policy & Planning. He will have primary responsibility for managing the company's legislative and regulatory monitoring efforts, policy development, energy research and new business development.

"Scott has been with SDREO since its beginnings and has been a key contributor to our tremendous growth and success. Given all our new partnerships with local governments and increased emphasis on tracking energy regulations and legislation, Scott is the ideal person for this new and critical position," said Irene Stillings, SDREO Executive Director.

Mr. Anders, age 34, joined the company in 1999 as a project manager and was promoted twice to his most recent position as program manager for several of SDREO's energy efficiency programs. He previously worked for the Center for a Sustainable Economy, a Washington D.C. policy think tank, and served in the Peace Corps in Mali, West Africa.

Mr. Anders holds a Masters degree in Public Policy, with a specialization in energy and environmental policy, from the University of Maryland School of Public Affairs. He is married and has two children.
