Robert Cohen joined The Star-Ledger of Newark, N.J., in 1970 and has been a Washington correspondent since 1979. He covers Congress, the White House, politics, the courts and the federal agencies. Before arriving at The Star-Ledger, Cohen served for two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Guyana, where he taught high school. He is a graduate of Rutgers University.
