Currently, I am a substitute teacher for the Lee County Schools: Middle and
Elementary. Am a NetAid OnLine Volunteer with Horizon Communications,
currently working with the Borneo Project. Am active with NPCA and think
doubling the size of the PC is somewhat of a bargain is exchange for getting G.
Vasquez.
Any thoughts you have now looking back on peace corps days?:
Peace Corps Malaysia: Sarawak was a very good experience. It was at a time
that community friendships meant a great deal and we made our biggest impsct
in citizen diplomacy. Peace Corps Jamaica: Kingston was different because of
assignment in "sensitive" area. This created quite a barrier between me and
possible friendships that might have occurred.
Anyone you are looking for or would like to hear from?:
Roni Quinn - Peace Corps Malaysia
Any message for returned volunteers?:
I think that we need to insist on the independance of the Peace Corps from the
other service Agencies of the Fed. We have worked a long time on establishing
our identity and style in foreign affairs and it should not be tampered with at this
time.

Bring us up to date on your life after the peace corps:
Life after Peace Corps Malaysia: Sarawak was very interesting but not able to come to some kind of resolution on personnal relationships still outstanding; life after Kingston has gotten rough because I think I am somehow caught up in anti-Peace Corps tide that is sweeping through some places. This tide perhaps has nothing to do with my job assignment at UHWI.
Any thoughts you have now looking back on peace corps days?:
Peace Corps will always be the indelible experience as long as we remain a supportive allumni association, just look what has happend in Russia and how the PCV's have been trashed! Also, as I have adopted much of the "miserable Third World" value system too, life is very rough around the edges. By this I mean, I try to live the honest, but poor lifestyle and because it has been forced on me by circumstance I am going to use it as a spiritual merit.

Been back four months, looking for a job and thinking about going back to school.
Any thoughts you have now looking back on peace corps days?:
As the daily experiences and "vibes" of life in Jamaica start to fade, I find myself missing that truly unique time in my life more and more.
Anyone you are looking for or would like to hear from?:
Anyone from group 72, 73 or 74 I know, anyone and everyone.
