Dear Indonesia RPCVs,

I was researching the Returned Peace Corps Volunteers websites and came across your RPCVs group.

I am a Regional Director for the Program of Academic Exchange (PAX), a non-profit educational foundation; headquartered in Port Chester, NY. PAX promotes international peace, friendship and understanding through the cross-cultural exchange and education of world citizens.

This month we became part of a new U.S. State Department High School Initiative for the students from Indonesia, Egypt, Turkey, etc. to come to the United States, live with an American host family for an academic year, study in a public high school and learn the daily life of an American society. The major goal of the program is to learn from these students, as well as to introduce them to common American people. The program finalists receive full U.S. Government scholarship and will have the full support of a placing organization like PAX.

Currently, I am seeking out to hire qualified Cluster Leaders (CLs) in MA, RI, CT, NJ, MD, DE, PA, VA and WV who may serve in this capacity to work with a cluster of three students during the next school year from Indonesia, Turkey and Egypt. The State Department will provide a compensation for the placement of the 3 students with the American families, and supervision. There is also a great travel incentive: a Cluster Leader will be invited to the annual 4-day national meeting in Puerto Rico next year with all expenses paid!!

Many people wonder these days why America is so misunderstood overseas and the public opinion especially in these countries reached its lowest point. This program will try to build true bridges of understanding through youth exchange and, hopefully, will result in life-long friendships!

We need people with your background and experience, your passion for other cultures and making a difference! If you or anybody you know might be interested in acting as a Cluster Leader for the U.S. Government Initiative, please email me at oxanap@pax.org or call me back at 1-800-555-6211, ext. 302 for more information! The program will only take a couple of hours per week the most! Plus, there are amazing young people and hands-on exposure to different cultures!

Thank you in advance for your interest!
