Bring us up to date on your life after the peace corps:
First of all, if not for the US Peace Corps I would never had the opportunity
to enroll at Bates College(Maine). My work with the Peace Corps provided
me enough funds to pay for my undergraduate education as well as a
great help so that I could go to graduate school. I went on to receive a
MAT degree from the School for International Training and later one a Ph.D
in Administration of Higher Education from Michigan State Univerty. While
conducting international programs of education for The Experiment (today
WorldLearning) I was offered a job as a Professor at the Federal University
of Paraiba, where I continued to working with international programs of
education. My 3 children were born here (Jennifer, born in
Brattleboro,Vermont in l979; Jonathan, born in East Lansing, Michigan, in
1984; and Jeffrey also born in East Lansing, in 1987).
Any thoughts you have now looking back on peace corps days?:
I always enjoyed interacting with my students and I still believe the work
the volunteers aimed at was a sublime one, a caring one, a needed one. A
job which would benefit both parties, not only the volunteer but also the
local people in the community. The Peace Corps was/is a venture - a
needed one, I might add. It provides opportunity for learning and growth.
My work with the US Peace Corps added a lot to my life and my life would
not have as fulfilling had I not worked with the Peace Corps in so many
capacities.
Anyone you are looking for or would like to hear from?:
Any one who still remember me from those wonderful years. Especially,
Michael Albert Viola who served in Iuna,Espirito Santo in early 60's. Also,
Darline Ryther Braz who served in Espirito Santo 64-66.
There were 2 female RPCVS working at the Institute for International
Education/New York These two persons helped me a great deal early in
January 1968 when by coincidence I met them at IIE. Another coincidence,
they knew Michael Albert Viola, since they also served in Espirito
Santo(Ibelieve one of them is Darline Ryther, but I am not that sure. And
-please excuse-me, I forgot the name of the other person. At any rate, I
would love to talk with them.

To All Lovers of Peace
It really feels good that people every where, specially of America, deciding the fate of humanity, is coming out in such large number against war and speaking up for peace. In this movement, I do see a faint hope for humanity and our endangered earth. I wish to join my hands, which always struggled for this cause in a unique way for a quite a long time.
I believe war is a death force. It is a product of human conquering motive, which in turn has its roots in human ignorance about the truth of nature and how it functions. It is the path, which the ignorant humanity has taken to circumvent uncertainty. The root of terrorism also lies in the same thread except, that the less powerful one adopts it.
Since ignorance and uncertainty is the cause of war and terrorism, the only way peace can be restored to humanity, is to wipe out the ignorance and uncertainty and install hope and life force into humanity.
I have spent more than 14 years on this project after I yielded to my conscience to note that there is some thing wrong about science. I gave up my mad competitive existence as a scientist I a lucrative field to retreat to my interior village from where I began to review and research from a point of freedom and detachment. In this mode of query, nature was very willing reveal her pages. She took me to the pinnacle of her secrets. However, the competitive world was not willing to listen.
I am on the net openly challenging the scientific world and calling the attention of the world leaders to it. It is not my fort to predict, yet from the knowledge I gained, giving enough reason, I had appealed to American President and world leaders not to bombard a small critical area [Afghanistan] with all the blasting power of humanity has developed on ignorance. I had warned, that at best it would create a series of earthquake, climatic changes that would lead to chain of natural catastrophes. Since then humanity has seen some abrupt climatic changes.
I have kept my struggle going and feel happy to join hand with you all. Rest is left to His will
I call your attention to
