Remember how influential your host family was? Here's your chance to give back! American Councils for International Education, a D.C. based non-profit, is looking for interested people (young, old, married, single, etc) in Boston, Tallahassee, Lansing and Nashville willing to host a 20-something LEAP fellow for six months. LEAP stands for Legislative Education and Practice, and it's a State Dept. funded initiative to bring bright, motivated young people from the former Soviet Union to the U.S. to learn about local governance and democracy. The LEAP fellows will be arriving in the U.S. in mid/late December, and will remain until mid-May. Host families will be compensated with a small stipend, and must be close to public transportation or able to provide a ride to work. If you or someone you know might be interested, please contact RaeJean Stokes (RPCV Ukraine 2003-2005) at American Councils at RStokes@americancouncils.org or 303-526-6333 for more information. Thank you! |
