are there any PCV that went to China? If so, could you share your experience pleeease?? my other classmates are applying to S.America or Africa, but i have a BA in Asian Studies- Japanese language concentration. I have also taken a few semesters of Chinese language and history classes. I have done volunteer work teaching kids and ESL with Chinese, Korean, and Japanese women who have recently immigrated to America. So i'm hoping this will help qualify me to go to China. But I just really need feedback. most of the PC handouts are about South America and Africa, and the same with returned volunteers i've spoken to. anything would be GREATLY appreciated! --caroline |

Well, I'm currently serving as a PCV in China (05-07). Overall, it's great! I'm looking forward to my projects for my last year here but I'm also looking forward to leaving!!! The training is wonderful and I feel I was prepped as much as I could have been. They PC China staff works hard to try and make us PCVs happy. I mean this is China, and I DO have my very bad China days but that'll happen anywhere. It really IS the toughest job you'll ever love!!! ahehaeha |
