hey Denise, how I ended up here I'm not sure. So how are you? Back in Madison I see... my wife lobbies to move back there (she attended UW Vet School) but I keep insisting we need to be closer to dependable snow. So we live in Portland, ME, where the snow hasn't really been all that reliable, but it is a lovely city. After UPS I went back to school and then started and ran an organic farm in Vermont for a few years. Then we moved to NYC and I went to grad school at Columbia and became a teacher, first in NYC and now in Maine. After nearly a decade in public schools I escaped this year and am running a writing program at a juvenile prison. I actually work as a consultant for the Student Press Initiative (publishspi.org), a program out of Teachers College that aims to empower student writers by engaging them in the process of publishing their work. It's powerful stuff; we'll be publishing our book ("Smoke Signals: Oral Histories from Long Creek"), later this month. Hope you're healthy and happy. Would love to hear about your life. Bill |
