Hi, I am a 16 year old girl getting ready to enter into the 11th grade, and have been very interested in joining the peace core. I have no clue how to go about doing this or if there is even any way for me to help out. Please write back with advice.

Hi, I'm applying for service in the Peace Corps, but I'm 22. I think you have to be at least 18 and have either a college degree or hands on work experience, so it looks like you'll have to wait a few years. Start doing your homework now though, visit www.peacecorps.org and request to speak with a recruiter or check out local events in your area to attend. It's never too early to start planning! Good luck!

You have to be eighteen, and have either a college degree or work experience in the field you'll be entering. If you're still in high school, consider applying to be an AFS student, which will help you develop skills in a foreign language and improve your chances of getting in when you are old enough.

To the kid in New Zealand: are you a U.S. citizen? Because you have to be to join the peace corps.
