Initial appointments to the Peace Corps normally do not exceed 30 months, but they may be extended for up to 5 years. A six-month trial period is required. This is a full-time position.





Duties
The incumbent provides a variety of program assistance and administrative support duties to the Manager, American Diversity Program (ADP) and other staff of the ADP Office. The ADP administers the Peace Corps diversity awareness and equal employment opportunity discrimination complaints process, and the agency’s affirmative employment and outreach programs. The incumbent is responsible for providing advice to the Director and senior staff members, as well as employees throughout the United States and internationally around the world relating to a broad spectrum of equal employment and diversity issues. The incumbent provides administrative assistance, case maintenance, committee leadership, office management and overall support to the ADP staff and collateral duty personnel. Serves as the Special Emphasis Program Coordinator for the monthly planning committees involved in planning events for annual ethnic observances. Assists in retrieval, compilation and analysis of labor force statistics and prepares recurring reports to EEOC, HRM Congress and others. Composes and responds to routine correspondence, prepares ADP marketing materials, handouts, and power point presentations. Provides administrative advice and guidance to collateral-duty EEO Counselors. Prepares travel authorizations, country cables, procurements, and purchase requests and maintains ADP Office files and intranet home page. Due to the highly sensitive nature of the job functions, preserving the integrity of the EEO process and maintaining confidentiality is essential in the daily conduct of work.

Career Ladder
FP-6 (equivalent to GS-8) is the full performance level for this position. If selected from this vacancy announcement at the lower grade level, the incumbent may be considered for promotion without further competition.

Required Qualifications
In order to be selected for this position, applicants must be U.S. citizens, must not have been employed in intelligence-related activities. All education and experience must be met by closing date. Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position, as described above, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent at least to the next lower grade in the normal line of progression. Knowledge, skills, and abilities are those that demonstrate performance of the duties and responsibilities as outlined above and must have included: 1. Demonstrated knowledge of mandatory reporting requirements by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Office of Personnel Management, and other federal agencies in preparing discrimination complaints and EEO and Affirmative Action reports. 2. Demonstrated knowledge of federal EEO regulations, procedures and principles. 3. Demonstrated skill in compiling and extracting data from a variety of computer listings and other reports to suit varied and frequently changing reporting requirements.
