The Senate Confirmation Hearings for Gaddi Vasquez took place on November 14. Hundreds of Returned Peace Corps Volunteers signed this petition which was delivered to Senators on the Foreign Relations Committee opposing Mr. Vasquez's appointment as Peace Corps Director. Many of you contributed to this advertisement that appeared in the Congressional "Roll Call" the day of the hearings. And many of you attended the hearings themselves to show the Senate that RPCVs still care about the Peace Corps.

Read our coverage of the hearings, read what former Director Jack Vaughn said to Senator Dodd in his statement to the hearings, and make up your own mind if Mr. Vasquez is the right man to lead the Peace Corps.

The confirmation vote will be coming up before the Senate in early December.

If you oppose Mr. Vasquez, make phone calls now to both your Senators at their Washington offices at these numbers, tell the staffer that answers the phone that you are a constituent, that you are a RPCV, that you oppose Mr. Vasquez's confirmation, tell them why, and ask how your Senator is going to vote.

It's still your call.
