GLOBAL PUBLIC POLICY ADVOCACY WORKSHOP

Objectives of the workshop are:

(1) creating effective relationships with members of Congress

(2) generating media coverage

(3) creating effective presentations that promote awareness, provide knowledge, teach skills, and lead to action

(4) designing the future: create an ACTION PLAN for the Regional Global Public Policy Network

A Manual will be provided for each participant at the Workshop

This will provide excellent preparation for your advocacy work at local, state, national and international levels. It will enable you to conduct effective advocacy "every day." This regional workshop is the fourth and last in a series, implementing the expanded NPCA advocacy program supported by a grant from the Rockefeller Brothers Fund. The broad objective is to help develop an effective Constituency for Global Engagement.

Dan Zukergood, our trainer, has had great success doing similar workshops for RESULTS. We will have fun! The workshop will be interactive, with discussion and hands-on exercises.

RPCVs have a unique perspective on global problems and solutions. They need advocacy skills to further this perspective. You will leave MORE aware of key issues, MORE knowledgeable about advocacy, MORE adept at skills needed for success, and MORE motivated for action! You will leave as an enabled RPCV advocacy team!

A modest registration fee of $30 will cover two meals and other costs. For those requiring accommodations, we have attached a list of the more affordable nearby motels.
