Peace Corps Looking for Love

Good Morning America is looking for the all-time greatest love story for a segment on their show titled "Love in Times Square." Best case scenario would be two Peace Corps workers who served years ago and who have recently found each other and want to be married. It could also be two people who have a Peace Corps connection and want to be married.

GMA will pay for and produce the wedding ceremony in Times Square on May 17th and supply the honeymoon trip. It is required that the participants be at least 18 years old. Does anyone have any ideas??

My name is Marty Brenner, and I was a volunteer in Kenya79-81 teaching Math/Science/Geography at Ndaini Secondary School in the Nyeri school district in central Kenya. During the spring of 1981 I met my current wife, at the time Maryellen Fisher, who was a PC music teacher in Kaimosi at the Quaker Mission School there. We met for the first time at a party thrown by a mutual PC friend's house, Steve Mossholder, in Nakuru. One memorable trip during a teacher break in April was to Lamu on the Kenyan coast.

She was in the 1980-1982 group, so I came back to the States in Feb82 (with Steve, it took us 3 months) and while Maryellen remained in Kenya during 1982, we were separated for a year to determine if the love was real.

Meanwhile, we were both fooling around while sending love letters back-and-forth. She returned to the States in Dec82 and we were not sure if we really knew each other any more, but with time love settled back in and we were married on Dec17, 1983. By pure coincidence, the 100-year anniversary of the Wright Bros flight will be Dec17, 2003, and I work for NASA Dryden Flight Research Center.

It's really unbelievable!! And we still love each other (on a different plane) just the same.
