Su Casa awards dinner set for April 24

ARCHDIOCESE — The fourth annual Su Casa Awards Dinner and silent auction is planned for Thursday, April 24, at the Cintas Center at Xavier University in Cincinnati.

Keynote speaker for the event is Gaddi H. Vasquez, 16th director of the Peace Corps.

Nominated by President George W. Bush, Vasquez was unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate in 2002. Upon taking the oath of office, he became the first Hispanic American to serve as Peace Corps director. Under his leadership, the Peace Corps is focusing its efforts to meet the challenges of the world in the 21st century. His priorities as director have been to revitalize the Peace Corps through a comprehensive outreach and recruitment program to attract the best and the brightest that America has to offer.

In addition, the Cesar Chavez Community Service Awards will be presented.

Tickets are $50 per person or $360 per table of eight. There is a cash bar at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. Proceeds will benefit Su Casa Hispanic Ministry Center in Cincinnati.

For information or reservations, call Teresita Lewis at 513-761-1588, ext. 10.
