Jon Davies Language Analyst

Jon Davies, 67, a language analyst who worked for the National Security Administration from 1982 to 2000, died of heart disease April 8 at her home in Severna Park.

Before joining the NSA, she was assistant director of the YWCA Career Resource Center in Annapolis. Earlier, she lived in Iran, where her then-husband worked as an electrical engineer for Westinghouse Corp.

Ms. Davies, a Washington area resident since 1978, was born in Alliance, Ohio, and raised in Franklin, Pa. She graduated from Penn State University with a degree in general science and served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Peru from 1968 to 1970.

Her interests included writing poetry, playing the guitar and listening to classical music.

Her marriage to R.L. Haggerty ended in divorce.

Survivors include a daughter, Anne C. Haggerty of Laurel; and a brother.
