Description
Staging Directors/Training Consultants needed in selected departure cities within the U.S. In conjunction with other Staging/Peace Corps staff, directors are responsible for conducting two-day pre-departure orientation events. Contractor/directors will plan, organize, co-facilitate, and provide feedback on the Staging event. Duties include conducting staff meetings on-site to ensure role clarity for staff participation and a team-oriented approach to training activities, creating and maintaining a working environment that promotes staff teamwork, managing administrative and logistical arrangements at the event, delivering training exercises as prescribed in the training model, providing support to Trainees and staff as appropriate, and assisting in resolving any emergency situations that may arise at a Staging event. Candidates must have experience in pre-departure orientations for groups going overseas, familiarity with Peace Corps and Agency policies and procedures, skill in presenting clear and concise written and oral reports, and knowledge of cross-cultural issues. Three years training delivery experience and two years overseas living and working experience required. Staging departure cities are Chicago, Miami, Philadelphia, Seattle, San Francisco, and Washington, DC. Preferred applicants live within commuting distance of these cities and have Peace Corps staff experience. Contractors are only needed occasionally (4 to 8 times a year). Remuneration is based upon level of experience and U.S. Government contracting guidelines. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply.
