RPCVs make one last Push for Full Peace Corps Funding

RPCVs are making one last push for full funding for the Peace Corps in next year's budget.

Call your Senators and Representatives now and tell them that you support President Bush's full request for $359M for next year's Peace Corps Budget.

Ask to speak to the Staffer in charge of Peace Corps affairs. Tell him/her who you are and your address (they only listen to constituents), and that you are a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer.

Tell them that you understand that versions of the Foreign Operations Appropriations Bill for FY2004 have passed both the Senate and the House and are now in conference. Ask them to support President Bush's full request for $359M for the Peace Corps for FY 2004.

Here's how to contact your Senators and Representative.

Your voice in support of the Peace Corps can make a difference.

Make the call now.

Got through today. A small milestone after many years. Got through and he will be putting our concerns on the table of the foreign operations Appropriations. Senator Dewine and Voinivich thanks for your help in bringing these issues to the table. We are into the money now.

Perhaps they will have to place two Volunteers at everysite before they get an increase.

Daniel

Good luck with the fund raiser. So you are bringing out a ringer now ay.

Good for you.

The Foreign Operations Appropriations Bills that contain the Peace Corps appropriation for FY2004 have passed both the Senate and the House and are now in conference.

Following are the members of the Conference Committee that will reconcile the House and Senate versions of the bill and decide on the final funding for the Peace Corps. The funding that has been approved so far is $40 Million short of the $359M that President Bush has requested to support Peace Corps expansion.

If one of these members is your Senator or Representative, please call them, tell him/her who you are and your address (they only listen to constituents), tell them that you are a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer and ask them to support President Bush's full request for $359M for the Peace Corps for FY 2004.
