Jay Katzen, the energetic retired Foreign Service officer, now running the Victims of Communism (VoC) Memorial Commission is on his way to the Peace Corps for a top job.

Jay has had great success with the VoC foundation, and President George Bush has agreed to serve as its honorary chairman. Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.) and his deputy chief of staff Don Ernsberger have given the foundation a lot of boost. A site for a statue is now likely at First Street and Louisiana Avenue N.W. if the National Capital Memorial Advisory Commission and the National Park Service agree.

It really does not matter whether the man is for or against the lifestyles of Gay marriages or not. He should be tolerant of other people's views, and either learn from them, agree to disagree or both. I do not live the gay lifestyle nor do i agree with it. However, those are my values, and I have not problem with people disagreeing with me. There is a time and place for everything, and if there is any risk of this man downgrading those who live the gay livestyle because of how he persoanlly feesl he should not only be denied this position, he should not be associated with Peace Corps. After all, isn't Peace Corps about learning about other ways of thinking.

Keith,

I agree with you on learning about other ways of thinking. However I wanted to point out that being gay is not a life style any more than being straight is a life style. It is probably as simple as the way we are born. I am not gay either but I think people can at least go to the trouble of learning about why some are gay and some are straight. After all everything else is the same. We all wake up, eat breakfast, go to work, come home, eat dinner and on and on. So you might say it is the American life style.
