Reps. Sam Farr and Mike Honda know a little something about the U.S. Peace Corps — they served in it in the 1960s.

This week, the two officials, Farr of Carmel and Honda of San Jose, stopped to honor the corps during National Peace Corps Week. The week runs March 1-7 and this year celebrates the corps’ 43rd anniversary.

UC Santa Cruz ranks fourth in the nation among medium-sized universities with alumni servicing as Peace Corps volunteers.
