Even a casual look at Bush's life history would reveal that he has no real interest in the Peace Corps, any more than he has a real interest in space exploration, or in combating AIDS.

He occasionally declares his plans to expand Peace Corps only to appear to have some vision. He must know that his runaway spending has guaranteed that all these programs will now end up being cut by Congress.

I don't for one minute believe that Bush has the integrity, intelligence, creativity or comittment to ordinary people necessary in a leader nevermind a president. Kerry wouldn't have been my first choice since he voted for the Irac war but as it stands I'm willing to give him a chance and hope for the best. He certainly can't be worse.

So many reasons why this is a no brainer, but I'll start with just a few: All Children Left Behind; an Education Secretary who calls the teacher union "terrorists"; federal deficit; spending on military, while simultaneously cutting back on education for military children; Guantanamo; impinging on civil rights; cutting back on funding to groups that support abortion overseas (didn't dare to impose this on domestic groups, but rightly thought that we wouldn't notice when it happened overseas); making the world a less safe place; and doing everything he can to make his rich buddies richer.
