Fmr. Lansdowne Resort Employee Charged With Embezzlement
Washington (AP) - A former Peace Corps worker will be spending a lot of time in his Centreville home, as punishment for stealing nearly $37,000 from the agency.
Along with the six months of home detention, Thomas Hunt will also have to pay back what he stole.
Prosecutors say as part of his job, Hunt would handle money that was supposed to be returned to the Peace Corps. Instead, they say, he embezzled it - pocketing cash and depositing Treasury checks into his own account.
