STATEMENT OF PLATFORM OR REASON FOR SEEKING OFFICE: I am the most representative of the four Democratic candidates that should be elected as the party’s nominee. My opposition to the war and the USA-Patriot Act and outsourcing of jobs, along with my support of a national health insurance plan, are reflective of the revitalized spirit and hope that many Democratic voters feel and are now motivated to turn out for the elections.
My history of supporting progressive Democratic candidates and my social formation from spending three years in the service of our country through the U.S. Peace Corps and my training as a Franciscan Seminarian give me a unique appreciation for the social needs of our community. I have advocated and spoken up for progressive principles without being blindly loyal in a partisan or ideological way.
