The eco-tourist folk need to understand what the Zapatistas are fighting for and respect that. If you want to provide alternatives to them, present your proposals to them and and be open to the feedback from them. Respect their struggle for self-determination.

Heather - you are a sheep of the Zapatista's spin doctors. They are an outlaw organization bordering on terrorists. The only reason they were able to pull off such brazen thievery is the weak policies of the Mexican government. Self-determination in the 21st century is accomplished through negotiation.
