An end to peace corps?

i think someone should remind us all of the prerequisites/criteria for becoming a volunteer... i know i remember a two hour phone interview and paragraphs of statements testifying to my sensitivity and tolerance, ETC!!!
it still disturbs me that someone trained to harm others would be among our ranks as peace volunteers. knowing that today, i would have many second thoughts about joining period. and my service was for four years, not two.
the US peace corps, and senators bayh and mccain owe all of us former volunteers the assurance that the integrity of the peace corps, its reputation and continued pledge for work in PEACE will be protected.
if not, lots of us RPCVs will no doubt push for an end to the peace corps.
