Hello:

I was always under the impression that the P.I. Peace Corps in Sept. 1961 was the first group to be sent overseas. Someone questioned that and stated the Ghana group were the first. Now I read in your archives that the Ghana and Tanzania groups, numbering 25) went overseas before the large contingent of 125 went to the P.I.

Why was the P.I. group always addressed as the first group selected. Was it that the Ghana and Tanzania group were selected from the large group at Penn State to be the first group sent over.

I am curious as the the dates and the names of the persons in the Ghana group.

Thanks,

Dolores Ducommun, '61 to'63
