I admit that, at the time, I wondered if the stringency of my exam was really necessary.
Upon reflection, as an RPCV, I see that, at least for Kenya,it was appropriate.
I understand the anxiety felt by some who are delayed or denied in this process, but it is better for both the volunteer and PC if potential problems come to light before rather than during the assignment.
