I'm old, well not that old but I am a product of the 50's and 60's, so now let me give you my opinion on what a favorite hero of mine named Jungle Jim of the l950's would have done if being attacked by an anaconda.
First, Jungle jim was very dramatic. Example, each week he was falling off a cliff into a waterfall not just any waterfall, but one you knew that you would not survive if you fell. Anyway, each week he fell in mid air and then the episode was over, so then you had to wait till the next week to see if he died. Well of course he did not die, somehow they showed that he did not fall, and got out of the danger that he was in by using his wits and outdoor skills. Jungle Jim always carried a Machete, and not a knife. So if he was ambushed by an Anaconda one week and you thought he was a goner, the next week, he would bring out his Machete and the Anaconda would have been a new and hot selling purse in the village Saturday market. And Jungle Jim lived to make another espiode for us kids waiting for what danger and adventure would come next.
