I have just seen this story on a television show on Court TV. This is a complete outrage...WHY IS THIS MAN STILL ABLE TO WALK THE STREETS? HE SHOULD BE IN PRISON!! What is even worse, is that the PEACE CORPS has covered this whole thing up!! What is this country coming to???

Peace Corps For who, killers this is outragous the PEACE CORPS should be held acountable for this and should do everything to bring this man to justice. I dont think theres a statu of limitation regarding murder. there for it is the sole responsability of the PEACE CORPS to do the right thing regardless who is in charge.

I don't understand why the family of Debbie Gardner doesn't at least file a civil suit against Dennis Priven for Wrongful Death?! And I cannot comprehend anyone hiring him for any type of job or his neighbors not making a stink about him! Where in Brooklyn does he live? I need to let my daughter know so she can stay away from this nut job.If anyone knows the address, post it.

Debbie Gardner was my husband's cousin. When I saw all of the posted messages on this message board, I printed them out & mailed them to Debbie's father. He is in his late 70s, (no access to computer), & had no idea all of this information is out there on the web. He wanted all of you who posted messages to know how much your support meant after all these years and asked me to post this message. Thank you for taking the time to voice your opinions! It meant more than you'll ever know.

As has been opined previously--both by myself and other people following this case--why doesn't the family of Debbie Gardner file a wrongful death lawsuit against this Dennis Priven? Unless there's some kind of statute of limitations preventing such a thing, then they really should consider it.

While he can't be prosecuted again for the murder itself (due to double jeopardy laws), he can almost certainly be sued in the civil courts for it even now. In fact, I find it somewhat incredulous that this wasn't done a long while back by somebody close to Debbie Gardner!
