To Beth:
Do you remember me? I am Cathie, your babysitter when you were around 6, 7 and 8 in Virginia Beach on Kelley Court? You and Sandy loved board games, most of all ... surprisingly to me, you didn't want popcorn, the favorite treat from all babysitters, you wanted noodles with butter and anise seeds. You and Sandy taught me how to make them, I mean ... we never had noodles in our house ... so different and sooooo good!
You were the cutest little blond with more expression in your blue eyes than I'd ever seen, spunky, precocious, daring, demanding, precious little thing. Sandy had his own thing going on, but you were always pushing his buttons.
I remember the two of you at the "bar" in the kitchen of your old house waiting on the noodles to cook. I remember lots ... it was great fun and I pretty much figure in on you two as being my own.
I wish I could send you some noodles, butter and anise seeds as comfort food. I imagine you go back to that from time to time. Like the rest of us go back to popcorn?
Write me, dear thing. Please?
Cathie
