Shriver Family Maryland Estate Placed on the Market for First Time
Designed by the esteemed firm of Smith Blackburn Architects, the classical Georgian styled home -- of 16,000 square feet, on almost seven acres in the Bradley Farms area -- is set among lush Hickory trees that Sargent Shriver personally selected and had planted when the residence was constructed in 1986; these trees were part of a hammock of Hickories originally located at Ambassador Shriver's old Family farm in Westminster, Maryland. Sargent and Eunice Shriver's Potomac residence has feted many historical gatherings, as well as memorable Special Olympic events, and has been the annual venue for one of Washington's most glamorous charitable benefits, the Best Buddies Ball in support of their son Anthony's charity, Best Buddies International.

Peace Corps has withdrawn all volunteers from the country because of "growing instability." Morales has thrown out US Ambassador Philip Goldberg accusing the American government of inciting the violence. This is not the first controversy surrounding Goldberg's tenure as US ambassador to Bolivia. |
